Oversized Hip Roof Shade for the Basketball Court and Playground
Project goal:
Shade a large are of 5,500 sq ft to protect the students on the basketball court and at the playground. The project must be completed in two phases starting during the summer break and finished during the winter break. Total time allowed to complete the project was 8 weeks.
Solution:
Fabricated and installed two mega span shade structures. To minimize the number of columns and maximize the coverage area, the structures were stacked side by side. The color theme matched the school building with black columns and shade sails in desert sand. Special pads were installed on the columns to protect the kids on the playground. The project was completed as planned with engineering and permitting done in just one week.
