Safe and Enjoyable Space for Kids of All Ages

Project goal:

Create protected cool areas for kids with special needs to enjoy the outside. Exposed rubber surface could heat up to 165F which created a safety hazard. Maximum sun protection was a must-have as some kids cannot be in direct sunlight.

Solution:

We fabricated and installed several hip roof structures using bright colors to keep the space playful and bright. Mega span structures were installed over a multi-functional court. The project took 3 years to complete as we had to work during school breaks when kids were off campus. Since many kids had sound sensitivity, we had to reduce the noise level while working. Protecting the rubber surface was a priority and spot repairs were also done when project was completed.
